Arnold & Son is celebrating its Grandes Complications collection with a unique piece adorned with dazzling blue aventurine and delicate white opal subdials.
Arnold & Son’s watchmaking has climbed up a notch in singularity, producing a unique version of its Double Tourbillon with a deep blue aventurine glass dial punctuated by two opal subdials in immaculate white. The dial plate has been expertly cut in a very particular way. In the shape of a clover, the main plate allows both dials and tourbillons to emerge to their full height. This complicates the stone cutting stages, which further underlines the mastery of the work.
The Double Tourbillon movement is integrated into a white gold case with a diameter of 43.5 mm. Its sapphire crystal is domed, accommodating the height created by the two tourbillons. These are attached to a three-dimensional, skeletonized, cantilevered bridge, and are made in the same gold as the case. The A&S8513 calibre is equipped with two barrels and two crowns that control the two time zones. Unlike most so-called travel watches, the Double Tourbillon can follow time zones offset by 15, 30 or 45 minutes, as is the case with certain countries in Central Asia.
